M. Doubletree Monrovia Project Notes

Our client wanted to convert an aging Holiday Inn into a boutique-style hotel that would become a high-energy destination for travelers and a gathering place for the local community. This involved a reimagining of the rooms as well as the major public spaces.

Working with Curated. Interiors, rooms achieve a Zen yet comfortable ambiance through the extensive use of the built-ins and movable pieces. To fulfill the hotel’s “your room, your way” concept, key pieces of the furniture can be easily moved to create three custom arrangements suiting the guests’ personalities. One-touch controls allow guests to set the levels for all the room’s lights from the comfort of the bed. The rooms also feature spa-like bathrooms and “hall trees” with a mirror and shelter for hotel keys and phones (complete with a convenient outlet for recharging). Mocha-finished quarter-sawn oak and earth tones complete the rooms. Public spaces were opened up and reconfigured for an indoor/outdoor experience and finished with similar materials.
