The sweeping roofline of our Sunnyslope project evokes the gullies and rills that define the desert landscape. Water is precious to life and though rare, it leaves a definite impact on the topography. Our sensual S shape roof is both dynamic and organic as it perfectly shelters the occupants below; and is one of many curves in the design referencing the desert landscape.
The sensual curved concrete wall embraces you as you enter through the glass foyer. Past the entry is the great room, with gourmet kitchen and walls of glass to the California room, curved pool, and the magnificent view beyond. The site consists of numerous native Joshua Trees that the house was designed around to maintain as many as possible.
The outdoor California room has a louvered roof that can rotate based on the light quality desired. The roof can also be closed allowing one to stay dry and enjoy the rare rains when they occur. A gas fire feature will keep you warm at night while you sit in the hot tub and enjoy the view.
The home features 2 bedrooms with shared bath and a specious primary suite with walk in closet and spa like bath. The soaking tub offers a unique perspective as it surrounded by glass to soak up all the view.
The primary bedroom cantilevers dramatically over the curved infinity edge of the pool. This combination reflects the dramatic boulders stacked behind the home Nestled in these boulders is koi pond and covered sitting areas. Again, allowing the home to both relate to and interact with its surroundings.
All 2,075 sq. ft. of our Sunnyslope property with its curved forms allow its occupants to exist both in and on the land allowing a unique partnership and participation with the desert surroundings.
