Dean Larkin, AIA, is the principal architect and founder of Dean Larkin Design, a Los Angeles based architecture firm known for organic modern luxury residences across Malibu, Beverly Hills, and the greater Southern California coast. A born and raised Angeleno, Dean earned his architecture degree from the University of Southern California. He began his career as the first employee of Richard Landry at Landry Design Group, where he designed high-end residential and luxury destination projects around the world. That early work shaped the approach he still brings to every project today: design that responds to how a family actually lives in a space, with a strong emphasis on natural light and a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor living. Dean established Dean Larkin Design in 1999. Since then, the firm has taken on some of the region's most demanding residential projects, including a 28,000 square foot restoration and addition to a historic Paul Williams home in Bel Air and a 15,000 square foot residence for musician John Fogerty in Beverly Hills. His work has also been featured in national coverage, including Architectural Digest, The Wall Street Journal, the Los Angeles Times, Robb Report, Luxe, and California Homes. Dean has received three Gold Nugget Awards and the Los Angeles Business Journal Award for his work. He has served as an architectural judge for the AIA Restaurant Awards and remains an active member of the Architectural Guild at USC, staying connected to the school that shaped his early training. Today, Dean and his team continue to focus on custom residential architecture along the Southern California coast, from oceanfront properties in Malibu to canyon estates in the hills above Los Angeles, each one designed around the site, the light, and the way the client actually wants to live.
